ARTISTI&ARTIERI. In yellow and grey
“The combination of a gray, stable over time, and a vibrant yellow, expresses a message of concreteness but at the same time positive and energetic … this combination of colors conveys a sense of resilience and hope. Being encouraged is something essential for the human mind ”. Pantone 2021
This bizarre collective – I know from myself that I thought of it – collects works ranging from painting, drawings, sculpture and art photography, reportage images and a short movie, but also fabrics, a project of jewelry, ceramics and even food.
Characteristic of San Sebastiano Contemporary / Casa Bramante is to propose initiatives that mix experimentalism and playful effects. The direction of this – as well as of other exhibitions – consequently follows a “light” and anarchic attitude that breaks with all academic references, keeping only one imperative: always and in any case to propose quality works.
It couldn’t be otherwise. These are the “limits” (or perhaps the merits?) of the experiences matured in the artistic field by Bramante and Premoli, who are the animators of this space.
For this exhibition, works by established artists such as Pietro Roccasalva and Miltos Manetas are arranged around an (apparently) pretext concept such as the combination of gray and yellow. Super professionals like Davide Bramante, Maura Banfo, Jano Sicura and filmmaker Giovanna Brogna. Proven artists Stefania Ricci, Giuseppe Bombaci, Claudio Cavallaro, Luciano Gaglio, Rossana Ragusa. Young promises like Salvo Alibrio, Sebastiano Bottaro, Daniele Bianco. To which are added the syracusan jeweler Massimo Izzo, the Catania couturier Mariella Gennarino, the ceramists (chosen from the Salvatore Lantieri collection) Duccio Maria Gambi, Juan and Salvador Cidrás… and also two chefs: Andrea Alì, Yasmine De Palma.
A heterogeneous company carefully arranged to create havoc to describe through the two colors given emotions close to resilience and that our mind needs in a difficult period like the one we are going through.
